Hate to break it to you, but heat damage is real. All that hair straightening , blow-drying, and curling is stressing your hair TF out.

So, let your hair chill for a sec and try one of these hairstyles for wet hair. You want your hair to be slightly damp for these looks so, either towel-dry your hair or dampen it with a spray bottle. But, FYI, before you get started: The wetter your hair is when you start, the longer each look will take to set, and the stronger your hair will hold the style.

Braid damp hair into four sections. Undo the braids. If you want your waves to look more defined, spritz on a sea-salt spray and scrunch up your hair. Throw your damp, curly hair into a high pony. Before bed, use a scrunchie —not a hair tie—to loosely emphasis on the loose hold your hair in place on top of your head. If your hair need a lil extra hydration, spritz a leave-in conditioner spray all over before you put it in a ponytail.

Wrap your hair in a silk scarf in the p. Sounds bougie, but silk keeps in moisture and prevents dryness and flyaways. Slip an elastic headband around your head.

Then, starting on the left side, tuck one- to two-inch sections of your hair over and around the top of the band. If you want your curls to be smaller, wrap the hair around the band tighter; for larger curls, wrap it looser.

Repeat step one until all your hair is wrapped around the headband. Unwrap your hair from your headband. The end result will be some really pretty curls. Need some more shine? Hit your hair with a glossing spray to give it some sheen. Twist a T-shirt or cotton pillowcase into the shape of a crown.

Comb the front section of your hair in front of your face, then sit the crown in the center of your head. Twist small sections of hair around the crown. Wrap a one-to-two inch sections of hair over and around the crown until you reach your ends. Repeat step two until all your hair is wrapped around the crown. When your hair is dry, unwrap the sections, take off your crown, and use your fingers to separate the waves. Spray a flexible hold hair spray over your new waves to keep them in place. Then, apply a curl cream to each section and, starting with the first section, tightly braid your hair to your ends.

Unravel the braids. Once your hair is dry, use your fingers to separate the braids and style your curls however your heart desires. Flip the top section of your hair from side to side. Instead of just letting your hair dry down and flat, flip the top section of your hair in between your temples every few minutes while it air-dries.

Why the hair flip? It causes your hair to dry with volume at the roots, leaving you with voluminous, heat-free body. Work in a hair oil if you want some extra moisture and shine. Split your hair into two sections and start twisting. If you want your hair to be smooth at the roots and wavier at the ends, comb each section into a tight and low side pony, then twist down to your ends.

Spin the twists into two low buns. Lock it in place with an elastic and bobby pin. Secure with one elastic and a bobby pin. Once your hair is dry, unravel the buns and use your fingers to separate the waves. Rock a super cute headband with your new waves to level up your look. Section your hair into eight equal parts. Separate the first part into two sections for a two-strand twist.

As you twist, apply a styling cream or gel for more defined and bouncy curls. Twirl the ends to secure each twist. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until all sections are done. Pin and wrap your style. Pin the twists securely to your head and let your hair air-dry. You can also wrap your hair in a silk scarf while it dries.

Untwist and style your curls. Use a wide-tooth comb to style and shape your curls. Separate your hair into four equal sections. Tie a scarf around the base of one section of hair. This styling trick is perf if you want bigger curls—the scarf helps to create them. Twist the section of hair around the scarf. Keep twisting the hair allllll the way down until you reach your ends. Spin the twist into a bun. Tie the ends of the scarf together to hold the bun in place or pin it into place with bobby pins.

Once your hair dries, untwist the buns and remove the scarves. Run your fingers through your hair to tousle the waves, and pin in a few hair clips to accessorize your look. United States.
