Single female beach holiday

I am a single female 43 who has two weeks off unfortunately during kids holidays I want to go weekend 16th April for 2 weeks of rest, sun and relaxation has anyone got any ideas where would be best and safe for me on my own. Does a cruise appeal? I don't really fancy a cruise can't be doing with all the formalities of dressing up I am quite casual linen trousers etc. I would consider anywhere but prefer all inclusive in case I am not comfortable I can eat. But I do enjoy exploring and walking but as it is a relaxing holiday I would like a pool and beach and possibly a fishing type village don't like clubs or rowdy places but a few local bars restaurants just to have a change of scenery. Budget no options but don't like posh places been there done that just want down to earth.

Done dominican, egypt canaries, mexico and been all round europe and scandinavia but all exploring and walking holidays so want a couple of weeks chillin catching up on my reading and relaxing but not sure where to go for that. Not the partying type I have recently widowed 2 years ago prefer quiet areas where I can just meander and walk and feel safe not parties just relaxing I Pods do my head in as they play them too loud so everyone can here them, god knows what it does there ears.

I need relaxing sun and safe no parties or men approaching me I want to read in the sun and have a stroll in the sun as well as sunbathing. I'm female about your age and do a lot of solo beach vacations. I generally prefer quieter places but do not usually choose all inclusive resorts as I don't eat or drink that much and like to have options about where I eat.

Having said that, I did have a great trip about five years ago to an all inclusive spa resort, the Body Holiday at LeSport in St. Lucia, and there is a similar property, La Source, in Grenda. At the time I went, LeSport was adults only except in the summer, but you should check with them if you are considering it. These resorts are good choices for solo travelers because they have single rooms, and you don't pay a large single supplement like at some AI resorts, and they also offer a communal table if you want to eat with others.

I try to avoid travelling during school breaks, though, so if lots of kids are going to bother you, you might look for adults only resorts since you will be travelling around Easter.

I have been there a number of times and on a few occasions have met a few singletons catching some sun with a good book or ipod. Maybe islands are the answer. Generally easy to travel around if you want to explore, variety of hotel styles, and unique in their own way. Can recommend Koh Samui. Lovely island, good mix of hotel types, all sorts of spa's, excellent food and such lovely gracious people.

Fishermans Village is lovely. Also another vote for Grenada, again great beaches, and a good mixture of hotel types, including all inclusive, but a very relaxed place to really unwind and recharge the batteries. Or St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

You'll need to get a LIAT flight from the other main carribbean islands, but quite stunning and very laid back. Or Sri Lanka I am off to Bali later this year, but from checking the Bali forum, I am re assured that this will be another island that I may want to return to. If you don't want to arrange flights and hotels yourself, why not discuss with a good independant travel agent, or look at the TA forums of places that you are considering, and post some questions in the destination forums.
